The Pays de Bray permit is located in the southern part of the anticline, bounded by the Fault of Bray. Since 1954, 5 wells have been drilled within the limits of the northern part and 22 at the southern part with primary objective the Dogger limestone. The NW - SE direction of the anticline axis is more or less parallel to the Fault of Bray. However both axes are affected by intersecting faults that create, locally compartments and isolated structures. The interest of the permit is to detect reservoirs trapped by this process. The objectives in the southern part are deeper compared to those in the northern part of the permit.

The Dogger was reached on the flanc at depths below 1000 m, while depths at the top of the structure are close to 450-650 m. In the northern part 2 wells, Belle Epine-1 et Buicourt-1, had oil shows. In the southern part 3 among 5 drilled wells had oil shows and Troussencourt-102 tested oil. Several 2D seismic crews were shot between 1951 and 1985 totalizing almost 600 km.
